What do you do while working at a shoe store?

I am looking for a part time summer job and I am 17 years old. I already work at the bowling alley and know how easy shoes can be. I am also looking for a job that doesn't use the cash register because I am awful with simple math under pressure. If i work at a shoe store can i just help customers and stock shelves and leave the cash registering to someone else?

I'm a 16-year-old guy, and Somewhere Over the Rainbow is by far my favorite song. (The original Wizard of Oz version, I mean.) It's just so beautifully, yet simply, written, performed by the absolutely brilliant Judy Garland. Hands down....Irving. Garland just plain sucks. I lived in Garland for over 20 years. The city has gone downhill. Lots of areas that are run down, trashy. Police department sucks. They are very strict and think they can harass/stalk anyone.

A police car pulls over and two men step out of the car. this is were i **** my pants. but the dick police guy ask to search the non marijuana carrier kids book bag. the kid ask what was his probable cause and the police said because he was acting nervous and because he had a bookbag. so the police pulls him over to the car and from were he was, we couldnt see him. well turns out he had a bamboo bong that was slightly used and a grinder slightly used. while the miget cop asked the 3 of us our information. they did search my bookbag but i had nothing in it, everything was in my pocket. well they called the searched bookbag kid's parents. and when they got there they took him home and he didnt get charged with anything. The dick cop came to us and asked us if we had any marijuana, and the dumb stoner of the group gave him a joint. the other kid game him a bowl and a 1g bag. and i gave him a packed bowl. The three of us were mad eto put our hands on the car and they emptied our pockets onto the car and they did the full search, the crouch grab and all, and they wernt nice at all except the new cop guy. we got taken down town and were charged to take substence testing and to serve this diversion thing. when i told my dad all this he thought it wasnt a good probable cause and he thinks the cop was taking advantage of us being kids. and while we were put in these small enclosed alarmed juvi rooms the cops were outside the room joking and laughing making jokes. my dad also thinks that the kid that was let go was only let go becuase the cops were afraid to be sued because of their bad probable cause reason, even though he had a used bong and grinder. and my dad is not stupid he is a 49 yr old hippie, he knows his stuff. my question is, do any of u think this is a good probable cause and what should I do.

You'll probably get in...its not that competitive of a school. As long as you live in the state of NC your fine, if your out of state it will be harder for you but theres a chance. Overall you seem to do fine in school and you have a bunch of ECs. You have some honors thats good, and the one AP is good, your ACT score is average, not great but not terrible might want to retake in this fall or not its up to you, you'll most likely get in, in my opinion, but overall no one here can tell you for sure that up to the admission people. So now the only thing you can do is apply, this coming fall.

im a freshman, and took three honors courses (the most possible for freshmen) this year and landed with a 4.1 total gpa weighted. i took 5 non honors classes that also get figured into the gpa. the weighting is a+ = 4.33 a = 4.0 a- = 3.67 and so on, and each honors course grade is counted as a full letter grade above what it would be otherwise (example if you got a b it would = 4.0). next year ill be able to take more honors classes so hopefully it will raise, but all of my friends are saying they have like 4.4s and whatnot and acting like its nothing. but i worked really hard and i only have a 4.1? is this bad?

Yesterday, I had a day out with my friends and my brother's friends. My brother brought along his mate, (lets say Bobby) and it's been awhile since we've talked. I met him in 4th class when he was in sixth. When he left for secondary school, I began to miss him a lot but I thought this was because we were friends. Over the next two years, I would occasionally see him on the street and we would wave at each other but never had the time to talk. Quite recently, my friend (let's say Kat) told me he probably fancied me. Then, I began to develop a crush on him. So, when we (back to the day trip) went to his house to pick him up, when I saw him my heart went all fluttery and I felt something in my chest. When he sat in the car, I was breathless. He looked at me at the corner of his eyes. I looked at him at the corner of my eyes. Later on, about an hour into the trip, we arrived at our destination; a bowling alley. We all went inside and decided it was boys against girls. My brother went first and got 9 pins down, (10 pin bowling) my crush Bobby had his go and got the same. (and so did this other dude that came along too) The girls had their go, Kat went first, then me (i missed them all, i hadn't gone bowling in ages) and my other friend; Ann. When the boys were up again, everyone got the same thing except Bobby, he had missed his. After that, he kept on going over to the girls and sitting beside me. Every time my heart went all fluttery! After the bowling, we walked to a cafe and got something to eat. Bobby hugged me when we got there and covered it up by hugging everyone else. He kept hugging me for the rest of the day...... When my friend and I linked arms he rushed to my side and linked with me. After our meal, we went shopping. He bought a packet of sweets and gave some to everyone. He kept on offering me some. After awhile we split up, you know, so the girls could do their “clothes” shopping. We all met after the shopping trip and walked back. Bobby kept sneaking up behind me, touching my back and making me smile, all the things he did when I was younger. We got into the car to go for a walk on a hill, he swapped seats with (Neil, the other dude aka his best friend) and began to talk to me. Every now and then when I turned around and talked to Kat and he would join my bro’s conversation, I would catch him looking at me. When we arrived at the hill, we played hide and go seek. (what?!) I was the only one left and they had to tell me the game was over. My bro shouted “Last one back is a rotten egg!” I was so far away I would never catch up, but Bobby stopped and pretended to be tired. After ALL of that, we attempted to climb the hill. He pretended to get scared and hugged me. We climbed down again and went home. *THE END* Now, I wrote ALL of that because I wanted to know was he treating me as a friend or more? This is rather extreme, but you could put up barbed wire on the top of your fence. Other than that, I don't think there's much you can do. It is trespassing if they are entering your private yard, but unless a cop actually witnesses them doing it, I don't think you'd have much luck trying to press charges.

Well you'll be a very good applicant for both UCLA and UCSD, you'll probably get into UCSD, its a little easier to get into(but really competitive still) and with your stats, I would say you'll get in. UCLA on the other hand is harder to get into but you seem like you could get in, although really with both of these universities your more than qualified although at the same time a lot of other people are too, so it can go either way there no definite here. Although what I can say for sure is that you'll without a doubt get into multiple of the other UCs, and you have a very good shot at UCLA and UCSD. With you SAT, if you can take it again in the fall although depending on the time when your submitting your application, you might not have your scores back/ready because the next test date is October 1st, I would say take it again see how you do,you aren't too far from a 2000.

Honors and AP classes look great on college applications and if he goes through the honors classes and continues into AP junior and senior year you can save a lot of money by taking a test to transfer the AP credits into college credit hours. If you're worried about it, maybe only do 1 or 2 of the classes, but to get recommended for 3 honors classes and not take any of them would be looked at as either foolish or lazy by most teachers and college admission guides.\\edit// AND teachers are always willing to give students help where it's needed. I don't know how hard your son's school is, but usually honors classes are a challenge...but a nice challenge. If his lowest grade is a 94 he should definitely be taking honors classes.

I won't let my daughter dress like that -- not because it's trashy but because wearing revealing clothing makes women targets for sexual predators. In their twisted minds, showing skin = she wants sex, therefore "she wants me." It's 100% wrong and it's 100% unfair, but that doesn't mean I bury my head in the sand and ignore reality. You see, my mom is being unbearable, and she is ignoring me because my marks aren't good enough for her. I'm getting around B's and B+'s, sometimes A's, but because of my report card, she won't talk to me. My father said he approves of my marks, but not my mother. Looks good. To stregthen you resume, I would add information about volunteer work you have done, and ways you have helped your community. Also, mention high school sports, clubs, or any other activities that you take part in outside of school. Depending of what this is for, you should include GPA and other information that gives them an academic perspective of you. Overall, the layout is organized and well structured.

Senior year really doesn't matter for admissions; applications are due in the fall before you get any senior year grades yet. If you don't aim high, you can probably get into some lower ranked state schools with a 2.4 and high SAT scores. But nothing much higher than that. And don't go to college unless you have a clear plan for what you'll major in and what you'll do with that degree.

I would actually stay away from the red cross. There has been various articles about the money that goes in but not as much goes out. The ceo gets a huge salary each year. What I would recommend doing is either contacting a local church and finding out if they are involved with any community outreach programs, most are. If you don't feel like contacting a church then try going into some of the local shelters/ outreach places in your area. See what there protocol is. Some shelters besides goodwill have 2nd stores to raise money for the needy. If you go in there first you can get a good vibe if these people are doing this out of the goodness of their hearts or not. Ask them will your donated items be sold or can they be given directly to the needy.

I don't think any college will pick the best individual scores, I think they just take the best overall ACT you have. And while a 24 is a good score for the ACT, I believe UofM requires something like a 27 or 28 for admittance. However, that does not automatically rule you out, but it seems that will be your biggest deterrent.

My boyfriend hasn't come home?

My boyfriend went to "have a quick pint" over 5 hours ago and hasn't come back. His phone is turned off so I can't check if he's alright and I'm really worried. Why does a browser attack to load fake AV show your own IP as the source?

Got another one of those lovely little web2.0 attacks today where the social networking page that was as vulnerable as a 3 year old in a dark alley attempts to give me a fake av. i mitigated it with symantec and closed the browser to interrupt the session but when i looked at the Norton Security Suite's notification, it told me everything about the attack including the website it tried to redirect me to but it indicated the attack source was my pc. How to create a child safe area for the kids to play in?

We have a decent little are for the kids to play, they have there toys, playhouse, &children's pool in this area... It's Along the house and the shed is on the back side... We cannot put fences up in the area we live, except a decorative fence, i have a 1 year old son, & a 2 1/2 year old daughter... It is really hard to teach them the perimeters to stay in as the back yard needs to be leveled cause it is alleys flooded In the low spots, it will be fixed for next year so they will be playing back there next year... The area they are playing in now is going to have a house addition put there this winter so I do not want to spend alot of money on containment for this year I will be doing it next year in the back! Yes she was fine. But she was really a bit old for the Wizard of Oz, she was supposed to be playing a kid and she was about 16 in rl? So they tried to tape down her figure and ordered her to lose weight. Visiting Japan - Tokyo vs. Okinawa?

I'm going to Japan this fall and trying to plan out my itinerary. My husband will be in Okinawa for work and we are debating if I should fly there direct from NYC or have him meet me in Tokyo. We will probably only go once and I feel like there will be much more culture in a major city than at a vacation destination. We would love to do both but probably won't have the time (or finances). Can I get into Boston University with no AP classes?

It is my dream school but I am not sure I can get in. My school is a top public school in my state and has a very rigorous curriculum. I took mostly honors classes and have a 3.7 weighted GPA. I didn't take any AP classes because my teachers or guidance counselor didn't recommend any for me. It was a struggle to get the A's and B's I did get with the honors classes. To give you an idea of how competitive my high school is, even with my grades and GPA I barely made the top 35%. I did get a decent SAT score, 1850. I also made it into the National Honor Society, I have danced competitively with my dance studio for many years and have been a volunteer student teacher in some of the smaller kids classes for a few years. I also play the violin and have been a member of the orchestra all 4 years. I have other various volunteer hours through my church and a teen organization.

Why do people like ozzie guillen when he is annoying? he always bashes his players in public..!?

Iam a new york and a yankee fan but iam more of a baseball fan in general. Anything and everything about the game will catch my interest however there is only one person in the entire sport i dislike and that is Ozzie Guillen manager of the Chicago White Sox. Yes he won world title but thats pitching staff was amazing think of it Buherlhe, Garland, Garcia, danks, Contreras, Galvin floyd and there bats where really good in Konerko, pierzynski, alexis ramirez, posednik and so on. my friend has had a traumatizing childhood. he has only blacked twice, but he sometimes randomly feels as tho he is going to black out. of those two times, this is what happened: once was when someone broke into their house and he saw a shadow, panicked and then blacked out and woke up with a cut on his foot. there was another time whenever he was in an alley with one of his friends and a black guy came up out of nowhere and started hitting his friend with a baseball bat.he woke up in his friends bathtub with his older brother splashing water onto his face. he hasn't seen any type of pattern when he blacks out or gets the feeling hes going to and it doesnt happen to him very often.

I just completed my freshman year of undergrad and ended the year with a 2.8 gpa (and an even lower science gpa around 2.4/2.5). I got C+'s in both Gen Chem I and II and a C- in a Honors Biology course which I retook and still only ended up with a B-. I'm usually pretty good at Biology but messed up the class really bad. I'm taking the 2nd Biology class right now along with Physics and have a solid A in Physics and an A- in Biology which I'm hoping to pull up to an A. I plan on taking many science/math courses next year including Organic Chemistry, the next Physics Course, Microbiology, Genetics, and Statistics and will probably take some other science courses next summer. I'm also involved in undergraduate research, vice president of a club, and a volunteer at a local hospital. I also take ballet lessons and have a part time summer job. I know I reallyyy screwed up my freshman year but do I still have a chance? I'm making some good connections with undergraduate research and volunteering for future med school recommendation letters and I plan on taking a lot of biology courses as well as stuff like astronomy, botany, etc. to pull up my science gpa but my question is even if i manage to get a 3.5 science gpa would med schools decline me because of the C+'s I got in Gen Chem and the mistakes i made freshman year? What if I pulled off an A-/B+ in Ochem. Is med school out of the question? I'm a Molecular Biology major and a public health minor (i plan on getting a masters in public health or mha if i don't get into med school)

Idea for a painting background?
